Deputy Information Minister for Public Affairs Eugene Fahngon has categorically clarified that the gov’t of Liberia has not cast-in-stone the slashing of civil servants salaries, but instead will work for the wellbeing of citizens across the Country. Speaking on a local media outlet Okay FM 99.5MHZ in Monrovia Thursday Minister Fahngon said contrary to what is reported that the gov’t is going to cut salaries of civil servants was just a proposal from the minister of finance Samuel Tweh and not a policy. He said the issue of salaries for civil servants cannot be done by one person, but instead through the national legislature and as such citizens should not panic.
The deputy MICAT Boss reassures citizens that the gov’t of Liberia headed by President George Weah is committed to working for the Liberian people; something he said was the reason why over sixty-percent of the population voted the Coalition for Democratic Change to power.
